This seminar will assess infrastructure planning policy across the UK, following the creation of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority from the Major Projects Authority and Infrastructure UK in January 2016. With the National Infrastructure Commission having issued its recommendations for intelligent energy, and transport in London and the Northern Powerhouse, delegates will draw lessons from delivering nationally-significant projects such as Crossrail and assess the long-term plans for future projects.

Further sessions will include discussion on infrastructure development in housing, communications and utilities, as well as issues around local decision-making and planning for energy projects such as onshore wind and hydraulic fracking. Following Parliamentary inquiries into investor confidence in the energy sector and access to finance, there will also be an assessment of priorities for investment, including access to private and public sector capital.

We are pleased to include presentations from Stephen Dance, Head of Infrastructure Delivery, Infrastructure and Projects Authority, HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office; Dr Pauleen Lane, Group Manager, National Infrastructure, The Planning Inspectorate; James Richardson, Managing Director, Skanska Civil Engineering; Chris Sexton, Technical Director, Crossrail and Richard Wills, Executive Director for Environment & Economy, Lincolnshire County Council.

We are pleased that Stephen Hammond MP, former Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport and Lord Rosser, Shadow Spokesperson for Transport and Home Affairs have agreed to chair this seminar.
