Key Issues

A Forum for frank discussions on the opportunities and challenges of the industry, the 23rd Annual event in 2019 to be held in Danang, Vietnam, will have as its theme, "Planning In a World With Too Much Naphtha" and examine the following issues:

  • The impact of geopolitical risks on global condensate trade and status of the two key condensate
    exporters – Iran & Qatar
  • Adapting to tightness in condensate markets as a result of US sanctions on Iran through alternative feedstocks (arbitrage condensates and heavy full-range naphtha)
  • Potential impact of incremental volumes of heavier condensates from Australia and US on splitter configurations in Asia Pacific
  • Impact of shifting refinery yields on condensate demand
  • Effects of increasing ethylene and paraxylene production in China on the dynamics of petrochemicals
    and naphtha markets
  • Fate of increasing quantities of condensate from large scale LNG and gas projects in the long term, in
the light of new projects focused on integrated refineries
