European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) is being gradually introduced on a European-wide basis, prompting changes to the way in which vehicles are approved and sold within the European Union.
The most significant change is the extension of EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval from passenger cars to all commercial vehicles not previously covered (including trucks, vans, trailers and other special purpose vehicles). The requirements of the directive are being gradually introduced up to October 2014.
FTA’s EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval Conference will explore how the requirements of the legislation will affect vehicle construction standards and procedures, and how it will affect vehicle design and build processes, registration and entry into service.
You will hear from the Vehicle Certification Agency, Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association, and leading transport industry bodies and manufacturers to ensure that you fully understand how the changes will affect your vehicle specification, design and construction requirements.
