Seeking out the industry’s role models and rising stars the FTA everywoman Transport & Logistics Awards are designed to celebrate the successes of the most inspirational women in transport and logistics; to provide evidence and role models for the further development of female talent throughout the industry; and to acknowledge the achievements of women in the transport and logistics sector.
The Awards began as a way of celebrating the hard work and achievements by women in the sector, and FTA hopes that they will continue to uncover inspirational role models, improve the image of the industry, and demonstrate that the support and development of female talent is taken seriously within the sector.
Theo de Pencier, Chief Executive of the FTA says:
“The Freight Transport Association is proud to be the Title Partner of the prestigious FTA everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards 2015.These Awards encourage forward-thinking companies that are committed to introducing diversity to the freight industry, and showcase how women can make a career in transport a successful and fulfilling one. “Major projects such as Crossrail and HS2 along with increasing foreign investment means that transport and logistics are offering more career opportunities than ever. The sector has worked tirelessly to encourage diversity through its commitment to training, promotion and job satisfaction. The success of this is now being felt across the industry, but there is more that can be done to attract women and to demonstrate why transport and logistics are paths to career prosperity. The awards are important because through celebrating success and showcasing the variety of job opportunities, we will ensure future generations of talent drive the industry forward as a global leader.”
