Three Months' Notice
10 June 2013
The Freight Transport Association announces that its offering intensive DCPC courses for passenger vehicle operators.
In its announcement about the courses, the FTA reminded passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) operators now have just three months to make sure that their professional drivers complete the mandatory 35 hours of approved Driver CPC training by the 10 September 2013 deadline.
FTA warned back in March that there will be no last minute reprieve for those who have not completed the training in time, and that Traffic Commissioners will take action against vocational drivers and the operators who allow them to drive illegally.
For operators who find themselves running short of time, FTA has organised some intensive courses during July and August to enable all the necessary training to be completed in just five days.
The FTA describes these courses as 'the ideal solution for those who need to complete a lot of training in a short amount of time'.
Three intensive courses are available on the following dates:
22-26 July, Reigate
29 July–2 August, Leamington Spa
27 August-30 August, Hemel Hempstead (four day week due to Bank Holiday)
Subjects covered include drivers’ hours, working time and record keeping; vehicle safety; road legal, driving values and safety first.
